How to Become a Genius?

Entrepreneurs and geniuses come in all shapes, sizes and nationalities. There are entrepreneurs and geniuses all over the world.

So, who is this first example? Germany’s own Albert Einstein. Yes the discoverer of this small insignificant thing called the theory of relativity or better known as E=MC2. And the bomb that wiped out Hiroshima.

He is our first example because he had a mindset that brought him to where he was. Here was some of his qualities and situations.

Good old Albert was:

• Dyslexic: This is a disorder of the brain by which someone will perceive letters backwards. This doesn’t make things easy to read so this brings us to the next bullet point.

• He stunk when it came to science and other subjects but excelled in math. You would think that someone could invent a hydrogen bomb that stunk at science.

• Didn’t even start talking until he was 2 and asked his mother why his sister didn’t have wheels. Hmm… No comment.

• He was married like three times and one of those times being his cousin.

• He was rejected from colleges yet turned down the offer to be president of Israel. This man didn’t even begin to succeed until his later life!



So, what was the one thing that kept him going? Well, we could give the lame answer and say he had a win win and can do attitude, blah blah blah, you get that with every Crackerjack entrepreneurial book. But, that isn’t us. You’re reading this to get into the mindset of an entrepreneur and though he was more of an inventor and discoverer, Uncle Albert had the heart and mind of an entrepreneur. Why? Because as he said in one of his most famous quotes “ A clever person solves a problem, a wise person avoids it”. So what does this mean to the entrepreneurial mindset? Aren’t you supposed to run headlong and tackle problems?

Well, not really. An entrepreneur will find ways to avoid a problem that they can’t fix and think outside the box to find the resources to go around it. Therefor it is no longer an obstacle. The man that invented the H-bomb HAD TO think as an entrepreneur should think when they approach any obstacle. So thank you Uncle Albert for the rule of the entrepreneurial mindset number one:

Think Outside the Box! And be unconcerned with the opinions of Others about who you are and where you are going.

So, now we know that thinking outside the box is an important thing, and must be coupled with not being concerned with what others think of you—because you can’t do one without the other. We go on to the other guy. Mark Zuckerberg.

Most people will either love him or hate him—think he cares? With Facebook worth over 200 Billion. So, did it walk right up to him and fall in his lap? NO, did he freak out and sell FB to the first person that offered this kind of money? Nope, the last we checked he is still the owner and living it large while the rest of us are still moaning about our mediocre lives on FB taking selfies and the millionth picture of our dog.

What was his mindset? Well, apart from sharing a mindset with Albert Einstein in entrepreneurial mindset number one—he had confidence. This boy walked away from Microsoft, and Mtv as well as several other major conglomerates that weren’t offering him chump change for this invention. He walked away from millions and billions. His people must have thought he lost his mind. But, no, he learned young to negotiate with one hand on the door and be confident.

The mindset of en entrepreneur can be fickle. We will tell you that, like Zuckerberg, you should keep your eyes on the prize and once you have a price or a goal you shouldn’t budge, even if the offer sounds great. Then we would tell you that the entrepreneurial mindset embraces change. OK, so thank you Zuck for the entrepreneurial mindset rule number two. Embrace change, only when it meets your needs. Stand your ground confidently.

Donald Trump

This leads into the third entrepreneurial rule of thumb and our last example Donald Trump. This is one of the most famous real estate moguls we have in the world with a net worth of 4 billion dollars as of September of 2014. He has the first two rules pretty down pat and more. He listens to his gut and not to much more. So, you’re thinking, he has years of experience on me, of course he can trust his gut! Not a thing to do with it. Yes experience is always good but entrepreneurs are fresh and new and out there with young blood and boundless energy —that is—if you want to be successful.

So, you need to get out of your own way! You can take advice but do it the way Darling Donald would, only from those you respect! If your gut tells you a startup is going to be a success and you don’t stop your first thought with fear then it will succeed and if it is your first one, make sure you are starting small so you can get out quick. Remember entrepreneurial mindset rule two— embrace change when it meets your needs.

Following your gut is one of the most important rule that Donald has followed consistently through his entrepreneurial career. He has also embraced diversity in his businesses. He is into everything from wealth creation systems to vitamin supplements and much more than his mainstay, real estate.

His other trait is tenacity. And I quote him as stating, “Anyone who thinks my story is even close to over is sadly mistaken. This is a mindset from a man who learned from an old school generation. But he emerged from that a cutting edge entrepreneur when he developed the mindset that he can be involved in more than one venture whether or not they are all a shining success.


And not all of these ventures have been. But, he made them work for him and his bottom line and he also understands that these are learning experiences. You are probably thinking, “He’s still learning”? Oh yes and that my friends is another mindset to really sink your teeth into.

There is never a time that you stop learning as an entrepreneur. You see, try to get this before we move on because it’s one of the most important parts of this book. Entrepreneurship is ever changing. The only thing evergreen about entrepreneurship is change—that’s it. Of you don’t learn what the trends are then you fail—simple as that. This is why we are lending the wisdom of the mindsets of the great entrepreneurs of our time and before. Because they have mastered this understanding. So another warm thank you from Donald Trump for providing the entrepreneurial mindset number three: Go with your gut and take advice, only from those you respect. Allow yourself to be diverse in your business dealings without fear of failure.

You don’t have to think that because I will be saving you all the time by listing the best time saving tools that will help you grow your business and take your business to the next level.

Most of the tools I have listed in this article are free while some may have free trial. These are some of the tools I use to grow my business.

This is an exceptional and revolutionary tool that helps you make your images interactive. You can add text, links, video or audio overlays to any of your photos or images and it is completely interactive.
Users simply hover over the icon on the image to watch a video, listen to audio or go to a link. There is a free plan on Thinglink but it has the Thinglink branding however if you wanted a pro plan prices start from $10/month, which is pretty cheap for what you’re getting.

It’s pretty awesome and some pretty big organisations such as Discovery Communications and CBS Interactive are already using it. Currently we are not using it on The Marketing Guy but in future we may do.


Infographics are an amazing way to tell a story or present some statistics. It is way better than a presentation and readers consume the data much easier.

Sometimes creating your own infographics can be hard but Piktochart makes it easy. With its easy drag and drop interface and colourful graphics and icons, it’s a piece of cake to create infographics. You can also easily adjust the text size and colour in an instant.

People love infographics and they love to share them among their friends and colleagues as well. They are a quick way to share alot of information and make hard to understand information digestible.

I use Piktochart to design beautiful graphs and make information more easier to understand and to break it down for my audience. Infographs can easily go viral and if your infograph does go viral, a good percentage of that traffic will go back to your website. I use this tool to help me grow my business


A very handy and convenient countdown timer. When you time yourself to do a certain task you are more likely to get it done. It just gives you an extra boost and allows you to work more efficiently.tools to grow your business

You can set your own time and the countdown will begin on e.ggtimer. You can also select the preselected timers.

I use eggTimer to help me to stay on task. It is so helpful and with this tool I use a Pomodoro timer which is 25 minutes of work followed by 5 minutes of a break. This is one of my favorite tools to use and aids me in getting work done. In fact I am using this technique while writing up this article!


This is my favourite tool to use for productivity. It helps me keep me on top of my game. I can just write up notes on Evernote and save them straight onto here. I can also use it for a number of other things such as collecting stuff and things from the internet and saving them on Evernote. I can easily organise my notes and all the stuff that is important to me.

Evernote for Android devices, it allows you organise your thoughts and create notes which include audio, pictures, links and text. Evernote also has a number of cool other features. It works on PC, Laptops, Tablets or Smartphones.

It is compatible with all major platforms such as Windows 8, Android and iOS. It syncs effortlessly on all devices. It is free to download and use and is only £4 a month for the premium version.

Evernote is like my best friend when it comes to organising myself. I write any idea I get on Evernote. If I get a business idea,  mobile app/game or anything else, I just write it down in this app. I also use Evernote to put in write down my morning ritual so that I don’t forget what to do every morning.

I also use the app to improve my productivity by using in for checklists. I write down whatever I have to do during the day and just tick off whatever I have done. So for example, I might have send email to developer and write an article on my list and just tick it off whenever I have done the certain task.


Canva is a lifesaver. It is a graphic design tool which allows you to quickly design banners, Facebook/Twitter cover images, artwork, presentation slides and anything else. This tool is so easy and simple to use even my 2 year old nephew could use it.

You can choose from loads of pre-made templates that are free to use. If you want to use a premium template its only $1 which is pretty cheap if you ask me. Canva lets you use any font, colour and style you want.

I use this tool to make featured images, cover photos, social media posts and banners. It is a great tool and allows you to make professional and beautiful images for free. I use Canva to help me grow my business.

Canva also has an iPad app that has full access to its design tools and library of images. It is very simple to use and you can create a beautiful image in minutes. It is also available to download for the Chrome Store.

This is a great tool and helps me to grow my business.


This is another stunning free online graphic design tool allows you to make professional modifications to your images without the expensive costs. You can easily touch up your images including teeth whitening, red eye reduction, weight loss and much more. The best thing is you do not have to be a professional to do any of this.

You can also easily make Facebook and Twitter cover images using the already set templates. As well as that PicMonkey allows you to easily make photo collages of your images.
PicMonkey is very easy to do and you can perform things like teeth whitening on pictures with the click of a button

1. Provide Value

The number one thing you should be doing when selling on Fiverr is providing value. Actually you should be doing that in any business. And you shouldn’t just be providing value, ideally you should be over delivering.

If you over-deliver the customer will be over the moon and they would be likely to recommend you to other people and come back to you again to order from you again. This is the number one thing you should be doing if you want to make money on Fiverr.

The thing I normally do is that I either give them a free bonus which can be in the form of a free ebook, report or checklist or I either deliver it to them much quicker than the estimated delivery date. You can even do both, your customers will surely be delighted.

You could also offer a money back guarantee if your customer does not like the final product.

2. Never EVER Deliver Your Orders Late

Don’t deliver your orders late. I learned the hard way. People on Fiverr like punctuality on their orders and want them for when you say you will deliver them for.

If you have a legitimate reason to deliver the order late like your dog died or your goldfish got flushed down the toilet then fair enough. You can email your customer and explain to him. I’m sure they would understand if your goldfish got flushed down the toilet. But if you don’t have a proper reason then deliver your order before time.

Don’t make it into a routine of delivering your customers orders late. Otherwise it will come to bite you back in the ***. You will get negative ratings and once the negative ratings start to add up you will notice that your sales will drop.

According to Fiverr if you deliver a gig late it can result in 10% lower buyer activity. This can be because buyers start to lose trust in you. If you are struggling to meet deadlines you can always change the delivery times to suit you.

3. Keep it Simple

Make it easy for your customer to understand what they will be getting and what they will need to do and what you will be needing from them. For instance if you have a gig that offers custom logos, you will probably be needing the customers business name, what colours they want to use in their logo and what style they want. Make it clear for the customer so they can understand.

Don’t use over complicated words or jargon to explain your gig. Simplify your gig description to let them know what the customer will be getting, what your gig extras do and how long your average delivery time is (remember over deliver).

Another good thing that I do is when I am delivering the customers order, in the delivery message I put check out my other gigs as well as asking them to subscribe to my email list. You can put anything else such as asking them to like you on Facebook, follow you on Twitter or leave a positive review.

 4. Offer Discounts

Discounts enable you take your business and your gig sales to the next level. For example you can if you sell custom ebook covers, you can put an offer together that if your customers buy 3 covers they get the 4th for free.

This will not only increase sales but will also help with conversations, customer retention and loyalty. Your customers will keep on coming back to you and they will recommend you to their friends and others. Just remember the first rule. Provide value and over deliver.

Why Making Money Is Useless?

Back in my granddads day people used to work to make money for one simple reason. To survive. They did it to provide for their family and make sure that they would not go hungry. They did it to make sure they weren’t cold at night.

Yes they did have more of a struggle making money back then. But they did value money more back that as well.

However if you are making money, it can buy you a lot more things than just food and drink. Money can get you more respect, more power, bigger house(s), better cars, better education, better help (butlers, driver, chef, etc), more opportunities and other materialistic possessions (Smartphones, Tablets, Games Console, TVs, etc).

But why do we want these things? What makes us buy these things? What drives us to make the purchase and spend our hard earned cash on these things.

One of the main things that drives us to buy the latest smartphone or buy the latest gadget is because of clever marketing. It is placed into our heads and we have that constant remainder of it in our heads.

According to a report by The Guardian we are bombarded by up to  3,500 ads everyday during an average day. This leaves it constantly in our heads and our brains are thinking about the latest gadget everyday. So that is why we are tempted so much to buy the latest iPhone when walking past the Apple store.

Another thing is we are always wanting to compete with other people and deep down most people want to make people jealous with the things they have. Some people just want to show of the fact that they can afford a Ferrari. Or even just to prove that teacher wrong that said that they would never amount to anything and just be a cleaner.

To many people money is a measure of success. For example if Person A has lets say, a couple of million dollars in their bank account. Person B sees how much Person A has and might think ‘this guy has made it’ and would think he is successful.

How long do you spend working?

Lets imagine the average full time employing working 9-5 everyday for 5 days a week. The average employee spends 40 hours working a week. Some even spend more than that a week working.

Some people spend that sort of time at a job they do not like and hate. Why would you spend doing something that you do not like just for money? Making money should not be the only reason you work at your job. If it is then you seriously need to look for something else.

One third of your life is actually used up working. That is 30% of your life which is a massive chunk of your life. This percentage does not including travelling/commuting time and getting ready. Throughout your life that is 99,117 hours spent at work in total on average.

Why would you spend the majority of life working for someone else and trying to get him or her rich. What would be the point of doing that? You would just be making your boss richer then they already are.

You can just start your own business and work for yourself and make more money then your boss and his boss combined.

Is Money the Root of All Evil?

Now I am not saying that is the root of all evil. Once you are making money, it can provide you with some awesome things. Donating money to charity or someone who needs it more. Donating money to people who need it for life saving operations. Providing infrastructure for countries or people that do not have it. Provide joy and happiness to others.

Money can generally change the world and make the world a better place. Money can bring change, bring joy and happiness to the world.

Making money does and can cause humans to behave rather greedily. It is like kinda like a drug. Once you start take a couple of hits of a drug you are hooked which is similar to money, once you start to make money you just want to make more and more.

You do not see anything else. That does not happen to everyone but there are many people out there who are hooked to money and have some kind of attachment to it.

Really it doesn’t matter how much money you have because after you make a certain amount of money it is all a numbers game.

Let’s say you are the richest man or woman in the world. You had billions of dollars in the bank. What would you buy? A couple of expensive properties across the world? A couple of super cars? Your own private island, maybe? You can really buy whatever you heart desires.

But do you really need billions of dollars in your bank account to buy all that? Not at all! They do say more money brings more problems. When you have that much money, you going to have loads of people hating on you, getting jealous and more expenses. Life isn’t all about making money.

Leaving a Legacy Behind

Instead of trying to earn more money and spending your entire life on a quest to get more money you should spend your time in leaving your legacy behind.

Your time is actually limited. We don’t know when we are going to die neither do we know what is going to happen in the future. No-one can tell the future.

If you know your time is limited in this world why would you waste that time working for someone else just so you could be making money. You will not be able to keep your money with you when you die.

Think about it. All the great people out there past and present have are remembered for their legacy. The great Steve Jobs who was the pioneer of the iPhone, iPad and iPod and also founder Apple and Pixar changed the way people listen to music, communicate and much more.

Mark Zukerberg the man behind the sensational Facebook helps people connect with each other and make friends. He changed the way people communicate and meet each other. He wants to make the world more connected.

The greatest boxer of all time Muhammad Ali was not only a great boxer but he was a great man as well. He worked hard on getting justice and equality for black people while also volenteering, helping, contributing and donating to charities.

All 3 of these people have a great legacy and will leave something behind that people will remember because they changed and impacted the world. These people never had making money as one of their primary goals. Their are countless amounts of people who have a legacy which after they die people will remember them for. Be one of those people.

Instead of trying to earn a ridiculous amount of money, work on building your legacy. Work on changing and impacting the world. Work on leaving your mark on the world. Making money is a by-product of being successful.

The Morning Routine of Successful People

The way we care for ourselves mentally and physically has as much to do with being a successful business person as does any of the entrepreneurial routines we do. In this business series we are covering the body, mind and spirit of the entrepreneur. It’s nice to see how our daily health and schedule routines stack up to what surveys and interviews have told the world that our successful entrepreneurs are doing.

The Misconception:

Most of us think that because we are entrepreneurs we are now a machine. We eat, drink, sleep and digest work 24/7. We believe we have to be ‘on’ constantly and burn ourselves out in order to reach success. We don’t. We are our own worst enemy when it comes to feeling guilty about how much work we needed to be doing in order to justify our days off. Making sure we are not killing ourselves in the interim is the key to our success. We won’t have anything to give our business or our clients of we look and feel overtly burned out!

So, what do successful entrepreneurs do? They make sure they create and maintain daily health and well-being routines. Sticking to it has its many rewards. You have to simply prioritize the important aspects of your life to create a balance. Not everything that works for you will work for someone else. You have to come to the determination of what works best for you. Only you know what your priorities are. Don’t make the mistake that so many others make. Don’t try and model your priorities around someone else. You are like a finger print and are vastly different from others. So, treat your schedule and routine this way.

If you are a morning person then capitalize on that.  Wake up and be ready for the day! If you do lousy in the middle of the day then take a few hours off—take a nap or read for fun, meditate. Do whatever gets you back on track.

Exercise in the Morning:

As much as so many of us want to not do this—we have found through polls and interviews with the most successful entrepreneurs that exercise of some sort—even just walking is the key to a healthy head that is clear and ready to work. Blood flow and lymph circulation are essential for a clear mind and healthy body. We have to have a healthy mind in order to process the information we will be collecting all day.

Eat Breakfast!:

The fact that everyone says this is the most important mean of the day is no myth. It’s essential. Your body has been resting and healing itself all night. So, now it needs fuel other than coffee and stimulants to get started. If you don’t you’ll experience fatigue crash by the early afternoon and this is a real productivity downer.


Get Up Before the Family:

Most successful female entrepreneurs will actually get up one hour prior to the family in order to get some time to themselves. There is a lot to be said for this. The best rituals are the ones that will put you in the mood you need to be in for the day.  If by chance you start off your day badly or negatively in any way, you will snowball that into your day for sure.

Crazy Routines of the Famous and Successful:

Winston Churchill, one of the former Prime Ministers of England had an unlikely routine. However it is a great example of tailoring what works for your success and it will certainly pull you out of your 9-5 grind.

Churchill would begin his day in bed until 11:00am. He woke at 7:30. He was brought his breakfast, made his secretaries take dictation and read his mail.

He stopped by his office space in the house for about an hour and then, ate lunch from 1:00 to 3:30 pm with colleagues and family. Discussed his day and made small talk over a 3-4 course meal. He believed that quality time made him better at what he did. He worked until roughly 5pm and engaged in a nap for about an hour and a half. Then, he worked until dinner at 8pm. This is with the same family and his guests. He would then work for another hour or so before turning in again.

Set Goals in the Morning:

First, give yourself a list of choices. If you meditate and exercise then make it an either or choice. Give yourself plenty of flexibility so you don’t feel in a forced rut. If you are a night owl—then try to get the bulk of your work done at night. You can even work this around deadlines you have with clients if you work smart. Choose the beginning of the week for prioritizing your schedule for rest of the week. Mondays can be for that. If you are the type of person that likes weekends off—this is a great way to make it feel as if you have another off day to just reorganize your week! This will give you the energy you need for what you need to do the rest of the week. You would be surprised at the psychological impact a Monday has. There has been songs made about it like “Manic Monday” etc… so, you know that if you view Mondays as a hectic day—then it will be. If you are this type of person—make it a better Monday by using it as a lead in to the week and not a fully fledged business day. You may just see that your week is a lot better and you are so much more productive. This way, the weekend can be yours. All yours.

Creative Work May Be Best When Tired:

When you’re tired, sometimes you may fare better doing whatever creative work you have. Make sure you are putting off any strenuous administrative work at that time. Now, your body clock will tell you a lot of things. One, it will tell you when to sleep, eat and work. You may or may not have the luxury to do everything according to your body clock. If you can though, listen to it as much as possible. Even if it’s one to two times a day. You’ll feel so much better and think so much clearer if you aren’t working through hunger or fighting off tired.

Watch Your Alarm Clock:

Believe it or not—the way we wake up has a lot to do with the alarm clock sounds we wake up to. That incredibly harsh generic alarm clock sound can send waves of stress through our body’s. The best alarm clocks are those that mimmick nature like chirping birds or water falls or pleasant classical or meditation music.

Winding Down from Work:

Winding down from work takes a routine that works for you specifically. The best advice out there is to disengage from the work day. This means all electronic equipment being turned off. After a certain hour, no notifications are on and nothing gets checked. Make sure that if you have family that may need to get to you that you have a certain ring tone for them as well as a text tone. This way, if you need to speak to them you can and ignore the rest. It’s important that we are closed off from the world at night. Sleep and total relaxation before bedtime is essential.

Write in a Journal:

Yes write in a non business journal. Do the “Dear Diary” type of personal journaling and make it positive. Write your gratitude for what you have accomplished and not only that—what you have taken for granted that you have in your life right now. It doesn’t matter how silly it looks or sounds. It doesn’t matter how large or small it is. It can be about the weather was great today and I am so grateful. My kid brought home a B on their report card and I am so grateful today. I have healthy senses to hear and see all the beauty around me on my walk today—I am so grateful for that! After you’ve done this for so long—maybe a matter of weeks—you’ll see a change—a big change.

Being an entrepreneur or a successful business person is more about how you take care of yourself than it is about any business strategy. It’s a general lifestyle because each thing will affect something else. You are made successful by being clear minded and focused on what you need to accomplish. You can’t be an innovator if you are battling sleep deprivation or malnutrition. If we have ill health of the body, mind or spirit we cannot be fruitful. It’s interesting and comforting to know that from the least to the best entrepreneurs the advice is not that different at all.
